Fallow trailer online...

The trailer for a new Lovecraft inspired short film titled Fallow has appeared over on YouTube (watch it below), and according to the information provided, the film will debut at the 2009 Fantasia International Film Festival. Look for more information once the film's official website fleshes out later this month...

About the film: In a remote pocket of the prairie, members of a secretive farm community make a grisly discovery: stillborn calves with barbed wire impossibly threaded through their bodies. It's a sign that a generations-old pact between the community and a powerful presence in the very soil itself is about to be broken by an outsider, and the consequences will be horrifying. Drawing upon elements of H.P. Lovecraft and prairie gothic fiction, Fallow is a new mythology born in the land, in the flesh, and in the blood...

The documentary, completed in 2008, has screened at several festivals worldwide including Tromadance, the San Diego Comic-Con and the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival. Look for an official release date soon...

About the documentary: H.P. Lovecraft was the forefather of modern horror fiction, having inspired such writers as Stephen King, influencing films such as Alien and Hellboy, and in music, Metallica and Iron Maiden.

What led an Old World, xenophobic gentleman to create one of literature's most far-reaching mythologies? What attracts even the minds of the 21st century to these stories of unspeakable abominations and cosmic gods? Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown is a chronicle of the life, work and mind that created these weird tales as told by many of today's luminaries of dark fantasy including John Carpenter (The Thing), Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth), Neil Gaiman (Coraline), Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator), Caitlin Kiernan (Daughter of Hounds) and Peter Straub (Ghost Story)...

The Mist is a story which focuses on a small town suddenly engulfed in an obnoxiously thick mist, which just so happens, to bring some nasty creatures along with it. Those creatures, in truth are only a small piece of this story. They may be big, foreign and scary to the average human being, but the fact is - a lot of the real scares come not from the monsters, but the humans and the terrifying effects these occurrences can have on the human psyche...
