First two Thing victims announced...

The first two cast members have been announced for Matthijs Van Heijningen's prequel to John Carpenter's classic The Thing. Mary Elizabeth Winstead will play a Ph.D. candidate who joins a Norwegian research team in Antarctica after it discovers an alien ship in the ice. Chris Landreth's Lovecraft...

Chris Landreth's animated Lovecraft biopic gets some press over at Variety.com (see: Canadian horror hits mini-boom). The project, based on Hans Rodionoff's graphic novel, will be produced by Steven Hoban (Ginger Snaps). No further details are mentioned, but it's nice to see that the project hasn't been forgotton...
