Bloody-disgusting.com has confirmed that Alex Winter (The Lost Boys, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure) is attached to direct The Gate remake (in 3D) and that the film is currently in pre-production. Winter hopes to have Stephen Dorff (Glen in the original) play the father in the updated version...
