Recent DVD releases...

Here are a couple of recently released DVDs that slithered under my radar...

Shadows in the Garden (7th Anniversary Edition)

Written and directed by Wayne Spitzer, Shadows in the Garden is a "re-coming" of age story about a Shadow that has come to the coastal town of Cthulhu Gardens, a butcher dubbed "Cutthroat Cthulhu", who leaves decapitated corpses in his wake -- including, it is feared, the town's own "Sheriff". Yet there are whispers of a new Shadow, a monstrous Other, a thing sharing the Garden's own likeness...

Originally released in 2002, the film stars Eric Gollinger, Andy Kumpon, Diana Spitzer and Wayne Spitzer as the monster, Sylkk. Released in April, the 25 minute DVD retails for $14.95...

Strange Occurrence in Bayside

Writer/director Marc Charles Cancassi's short film revolves around what happens when a town attempts to cover-up some strange and supernatural occurrences in it's own backyard. According to Marc Charles Cancassi, who also stars, the film contains "obvious references here and there to Lovecraft" and nearly every saucer movie from the 50's...

About the film: Two hometown boys, Tom Hilly (your working class hero) and Pete Shelly (the typical quirky conspiracy buff dude) examine what may be not only a UFO cover-up but a possible conspiracy between our own government and the actual aliens themselves...

Strange Occurrence in Bayside was released in April and retails for $14.99. You can view the official trailer here...
