Greenlight Mountains of Madness...

I'm late on this one...

Dear Universal Studios,

"At The Mountains of Madness" scares you. You fear the risk in funding such a movie. You fear the film will not bring in enough profit, when in fact a fresh film like this is exactly what the industry needs. This film will take the horror genre to new places. This is your chance to be credited as a modern day pioneer studio. This is your chance to be the studio willing to take the risk and make something original in a time of uninspired remakes and reboots. Fearing the outcome of a risky venture is understandable, but risks are unavoidable. This petition should ease your fears of the outcome somewhat, as everyone signing it is doing so as a promise to see this movie in theaters. Yes, we are asking you to take us on our word. We want to show you just how much this movie is needed. We want you to make "At The Mountains of Madness". We want it to scare us.

  1. Sorry, but if this is about the Del Toro film - id rather it never happened for the single reason of it starring Tom Scientologist Cruise. Any film with him in it should be avoided on principle. Get another lead actor and ill support this - that is inless it's another damn scientologist asshole.

  2. I would find it annoying to see Tom XCruise in it, to be sure, but, dear Anonymous (any relation to "the" Anonymous, I wonder?), you should keep two tidbits in mind. First off, since the project was cancelled, if it is taken up again, the casting would start off a clean slate; and secondly, to boycott an actor not because of his acting skills but because of his beliefs (obnoxious as Scientology may be) is plain bigotry.

  3. James Cameron and del Toro lost At The Mountains Of Madness to Mihai and Sparks in March. It will not revive at Universal. It is being done by Stella James Studios. Award winning cinematographer Keiko Nakahara signed on today and cast/film dates will be announced in August. For more info, see the press release at and you can request interview or info from the producers and film making team on that website. This is official.

  4. i for one will only boycott an actor if hes a creepy douche ...
